Colonoscopy without Any Medication?
Im getting a colonoscopy Friday.I have really bad side affects to almost all medications.Like stiffness in muscles, swelling in throat, severe confusion panic attacks...etc. Ive told my doctors this, and they are planning on giving me the medication anyway, or doing it without medication. They are not taking this seriously.I almost died in 2000 from bad side affects out at the hospital.Im not able to get a new doctor right now.Ive been very ill for 14 months, i had gallbladder surgery 2 months ago, but it didn't help my stomach pain at all. Any ideas on how to get my doctor to take me seriously? Im freaking out! Ive already had CT scans an MRI and now this.I know i need this done, and i can't afford to lose my doctor, i cannot get another one at this time.Any ideas on what i should do, ive tried everything to make them understand this. I have bad side affects to many pain meds and anxiety meds.I was told to tell the nurse this when i arrive for my colonoscopy Friday at the hospital, but im nervous about all this.I don't feel safe getting it done without meds either, I hear that would be very painful, i don't know what to do.Any ideas? This doesn't sound right to me, something seems out of order with the doctors. Thanks for any advice or ideas. Im in my 40s.
