Why am I never good enough for my Dad?
Sometimes parents can be goofy. They lived their lives and some want to relive their lives through you, or fear the breaking of a tradition My dad put the fear of himself in me as I grew up (yelling, being angry )and I was afraid to be myself . It was always NO!, NO!, NO!, when ever I wanted to do something like joining the army, etc....So I got lost into drugs. A parent should be their to help, teach, and encourage their child to be what they want to be and to help them to do their best. The thing I learned is to be what YOU want to be and to strive for it. Your dad will get over it , if not then he needs to humble himself and realize that you are who you are and to love you for who you are. There is a saying I wished I learn when I was a teenager " People don't plan to fail, they fail to plan. " Maybe as part of your study of Journalism , do a article on your dad. Just maybe he will realize that his son is doing what he likes and is good at it. Don't worry about what your dad thinks, it will be a constant distraction. I will pray for the best to come out of this. Take Care
