If Ahmadinejad is forced to resign in corruption, will Iran's threat to us decrease a lot?

Why are we in Iraq and Afghanistan and Libya instead of Iran?! Non intervention is bad, but so is/ I hate pointless intervention, instead of blowing up Iran a self defense threat
