Questions about colon polyps? Please help?

I'm 16 years old and had a colonoscopy earlier today. They found a polyp and removed it. Could I still get cancer even though they took it out even if no more form? Where is the cancer exactly? Is it in the polyp? I know that some polyps are benign, but I'm just wondering. Also they found acid just beneath my throat, what could that be?
